Debra Leahy, Ed.D., is the associate provost for Global Affairs at the Îá°®³Ô¹Ï. She brings over two decades of leadership experience in higher education, with a focus on international education and strategic global initiatives. Leahy oversees UNE’s global enterprises, including its campus in Tangier, Morocco, and is responsible for developing and delivering global programs, managing international student enrollment and services, and expanding the University’s international partnerships. Leahy also holds a faculty position in UNE"s College of Business as professor of Global Management.

Prior to joining UNE, Leahy served as associate vice president for international programs at California State University, Fullerton, where she led post-pandemic strategic revitalization efforts and managed study abroad experiences, international student recruitment, and global partnerships. She previously held the position of dean of international engagement at Southern New Hampshire University, developing comprehensive internationalization strategies and managing overseas sites in Vietnam and Malaysia. Her career also includes leadership roles at Emmanuel College and  New England College of Business and a teaching role at Simmons University. 

Leahy earned her doctorate in education from Northeastern University, focusing on international education. Her research explores transnational educational delivery with local and global considerations. She also holds a master's in English from Simmons University, a Master of Public Management from Suffolk University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College. Her extensive experience and strategic vision align with UNE’s commitment to global engagement, making her an excellent fit to advance the University’s mission of providing transformative global experiences for students.
