An exhibition of watercolor paintings, titled Flowers, by local artist Moe Auger will be on display at the Īį°®³Ō¹Ļ’s Biddeford Campus Center until April 9.

Auger, a retired art teacher, is an accomplished sculptor and watercolorist. His work has been shown throughout New England. A resident of Alfred, he was educated in Maine and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in art education.

Auger is an avid outdoorsman and registered Maine Guide. He is known for his giant pumpkin carvings during the fall months. A gardening enthusiast, he painted the series Flowers with inspiration from his own flower garden. The paintings in the series feature black lines that seemingly dissect the floral images into sections. ā€œSome see it as though looking through a window,ā€ noted Auger. ā€œI believe the lines isolate the parts of the painting, inviting the viewer to see the whole as well as the individual moments of the painting.ā€

The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or phone (207-284-6394).
