'Press Herald' publishes review of UNE Art Galleryā€™s exhibition of Nancy Hemenway Bartonā€™s works

The Portland Press Herald featured an art review of the current exhibition at UNEā€™s Portland Campus Art Gallery, Ahead of Her Time: The Life and Work of Nancy Hemenway Barton. The show is a retrospective, highlighting the artistā€™s early watercolors, portraits and oils, while focusing on her fiber art.

The review praised Anne Zill, UNEā€™s Art Gallery manager. ā€œAhead of Her Timeā€ is another feather in the over-brimming cap of UNEā€™s Anne Zill, whose 20 years of exhibitions at the Art Gallery are most notable for Zillā€™s worthy and exacting attention to Maine women artists,ā€ the article reads.

The exhibition will run until December 20.
